Magnesium is a fascinating substance, which is widely known for preventing calf and muscle cramps. But this mineral can so much more and is essential to us humans. For example, magnesium is the ruler over 300 enzymes, which regulate our energy metabolism. Furthermore, it significantly contributes to the cardiac muscle’s performance capability and is important for many neuronal functions.
The European Commission has attested all these detected effects and tasks of magnesium officially in a list, which sums up, what magnesium can as a nutrient can contribute to our health, namely:

You see, magnesium is a really interesting and essential mineral, which cannot be produced endogenously, and must therefore be supplied externally. Actually, there are various magnesium compounds, and the question arises ever again: Which compound has the highest bioavailability? Is it magnesium sulfate, magnesium carbonate, magnesium orotate, magnesium oxide, magnesium citrate, etc.?
Our product contains highly dosed magnesium citrate. Why? Because it is known to be easily hydrosoluble and leads to a quick increase of the magnesium level. Therefore, this compound is also called “the fast magnesium”. The advantage of this compound is its quick dissolution, which is for example very handy in case of sudden muscle and calf cramps. But does this make that compound generally the better choice? No.
As already said, if a quick supply of magnesium is required—yes. The disadvantage of this magnesium compound is, that the retention period in the organism is shorter than for example the magnesium oxide compound. Due to the shorter retention period, the storage depots in bones and muscles cannot be filled effectively.
This, however, works perfectly with the magnesium oxide compound. Magnesium oxide is metabolized more slowly—which causes a “retardation effect”. This means, it stays in the organism for a longer period.
What does this mean to you? For an optimum result, you should combine both magnesium compounds magnesium citrate and magnesium oxide. Magnesium citrate to achieve a quick magnesium supply and magnesium oxide for a long-term supply of the organism with this essential mineral.
By the way, our product Magnesium Citrate contains the very valuable tri-magnesium dicitrate compound. The amount of magnesium in this compound is significantly higher than in conventional magnesium citrate compounds.
